William "Bill" Milo Clements

February 26, 1931 ~ April 14, 2017 (age 86) 86 Years Old

William "Bill" Milo Clements passed from his earthly home into the presence of his Savior on April14, 2017.  Bill was born the son of Donald Luther and Veva Maude (Bentley) Clements on February 26, 1931, in Walla Walla, WA.  He grew up in Milton-Freewater and graduated from Mac Hi with the class of 1949.  Bill's early years were spent working in agriculture in the Walla Walla and Milton-Freewater area. During his college days, he met one special young lady, Genevieve.  On August 2, 1953, Bill married the love of his life, Arlena Genevieve "Gen" (Cutting), and they were married 63 years.

Bill served in the Oregon National Guard during1949-1962, starting as a private and working up to a commission as 1st Lieutenant in the 218th artillery.  During this time his work took him to Bremerton, WA, where he was a draftsman in the naval yard.  Later on he was employed in Portland at Fuller Paints and Foster Sporting Goods.  He owned and operated a sporting goods store in Prineville, "Bill's Sport Shop", from 1963 to1970.  In 1972 Bill graduated from Eastern Oregon State College. From there he began working for the Crook County School District as librarian/media specialist. He received his master's degree from Oregon College of Education in 1979.

Bill was never short on talent. He played baseball in college receiving the honor of small college all-conference title as a center fielder, as well as playing minor league ball.  He was a talented gunsmith and provided black powder blanks for the guns used in the community centennial performances.  Bill was a hard-working family man.  This was never more obvious than when he went back to college, earning his degrees with a family of five children.  His education opened more doors for him vocationally.  While working as the media specialist, he was able to set up a print shop for the school district and was the first to televise school board meetings.

This talented, hard working, Prineville man enjoyed several hobbies as well.  He was a proficient woodworker, a fly fisherman (who tied his own flies), and a hunter of upland game birds, waterfowl, and big game.  Bill liked to golf, play tennis, and do most anything where he could be outdoors with his friends and family.  Friends were important to him, and he wanted them to feel like family.  Most of all, Bill loved his wife, children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Bill had a vibrant and honest commitment to following his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.  He loved God, God's Word and God's people.  He was a member of Prineville Community Church.

Bill Clements is survived by his wife, Gen; his children and their spouses, Mark Clements and wife, Terri, of Camas, WA; Wade Clements and wife, Denise, of Spokane Valley, WA; Diana Overall and husband, Chris, of Prineville and Moscow, ID; Kurt Clements and wife, Lisa, of Redmond, OR; and Doug Clements, and wife, Amy, of Bellevue, WA; eighteen grandchildren along with their seven spouses, and twelve great-grandchildren.  He was preceded in death by his parents.
