Margaret Irene Flummerfelt, of Prineville, passed away July 7 at St. Charles Hospital in Prineville. She was born Aug. 27, 1919, in Kearney County, Kansas, to Maggie (Anderson) and Christian Peter Kiistner.
Margaret received her high school diploma from Ulysses High School in 1937. She married Ross Edward Flummerfelt in 1938 in Ulysses, Kansas.
She worked for Hugoton Medical Clinic as a doctor's assistant for Dr. Fredric and LeNeve and dentist, Dr. Harper from 1955 to 1988.
Margaret was an avid fisherman, she enjoyed reading, and she also was a China painter and taught lessons. Ross and Margaret were active members of The Order of Eastern Star in Hugoton, Kansas, and Margaret was an active member of the Hugoton Christian Church. After her retirement, she enjoyed touring with a senior travel group.
Survivors include James Edward Flummerfelt; Mary Ellen Cochran; four grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Ross Flummerfelt, in 1986.
