I don't think anyone that knew Aunty Hazel wouldn't say it is one of the most loving and special person they ever knew. What a privilege it was to have her part of my family and life. those loving eyes and hugs were endless. Our prayers of comfort to cousin Denny and Shirley and families. I am sending the hugs over. I guess one big comfort is you know she is thrilled to be in heaven with God and the loved ones! Love you xo, teri

Denny and families,

Just wanted to share a few memories of Hazel. My parents, Kay and Linda Garrison always thought so highly of her. I remember as a little girl, my sisters and I always had to go by the office when visiting Dad at CCHS to say hi to her. She always made us feel so special and welcome there. As I started my own teaching career, I was able to get she and Thelma to come to Howard School in the fall of the year to tell their stories of going to a one room school house, riding their horses to school, and their favorite recess time of the year being the winter when there was snow, because they could sled down the hill! My students loved hearing their stories as did I. They were well into their 80s then and sharp as a tack. I will always cherish Hazel and the special memories I have shared with you. Thoughts and prayers to all of your family. I know you all know what a special, kind, and caring person she was.

I have very fond memories of Hazel living on the hill above where we lived and being the high school Secretary when I went through high school. She gave me a ride to high school one year when I had an early morning class as she always went in early. I enjoyed going to see her a few times over the past and she was always so welcoming and glad to catch up. A very lovely lady. Sorry for your loss, Nancy Condron Draggoo

Auntie Hazel was the Best. She gave the warmest hugs and you always knew she loved you. Her Lemon Meringue Pie was always great and she loved to make one when we came to visit. I will love and remember her forever. From one of her favorite nieces, Linda.

Hazel was Mom and Grandma to our dear friend Shirley and her family. As such we heard many wonderful stories of her love of her family and her community. Her recipes in two family cookbooks fill a well used spot on my pantry shelf, and she set a wonderful example for those of us moms, grandmas and great grandmas who follow her! Not many will reach the high bar she set. Condolences and love to the whole family from the Wicks!
