Vesta Fine-Gear, a loving wife, mother, and grandmother, passed away on April 11, 2024, at the age of 84. Born in Toppenish, Washington, on March 10, 1940, Vesta grew up in Prineville, Oregon, after her family relocated there in 1947.
Vesta attended Prineville schools. After graduating from Crook County High School in 1958 she married Donald Geer. They moved to ******* California where Don served in the Navy. A year later they moved to ***** where they started their family and began to build a life full of love, and adventure. They worked tirelessly to support their family. Vesta began her career at Canteen Corp as a "record girl," responsible for changing records in bars, cafes, and taverns - a job where drinking on the job was surprisingly encouraged! After leaving Canteen, she went on to work at the Quality Pie Deli , where she honed her culinary skills and delighted customers with her warm smile and friendly service. In 1986, she joined Portland Willamette, a leading manufacturer of cement logs and fireplace accessories. Here, she quickly rose through the ranks to manage an impressive five divisions.
Vesta was known for her outspoken nature, never afraid to speak her mind and stand up for what she believed in. Her sharp wit and sassy humor will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
Vesta is survived by her husband, Donald; daughter-in-law, Jessie Amonson; granddaughters, Jerrica Geer and Kristen Riscajche; grandson, Zane Foley; and great-grandchildren, Jaydon, Alexandria, Zeke, and Rosa. She was predeceased by her sons, Ronald and Joseph Geer.
Vesta's love, kindness, and generosity inspired countless lives. Her warm smile and caring spirit will be deeply missed, but her legacy will live on through the countless memories and lives she touched. May she rest in peace, and may her loved ones find comfort in the knowledge that she will always be with them in spirit.
