Roger Holmer left this earth December 1, 2025. He was born April 30, 1934, to Clarence and Lillian Holmer in Englewood, Colorado. The family soon moved to Southern California and Roger lived there until he retired in 1990 and moved to Oregon.
In 1968 Roger married the love of his life, Linda, and together they raised two sons, Daniel and David. Roger was a proud grandfather of 8 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren.
Roger attended Huntington Park High School and graduated in 1952.
He served in the Army for 2 years doing what he loved most working on cars and trucks as a mechanic in the motor pool.
In 1958 Roger and a friend, Chuck Poetsch, started Aero Broach Company, a cutting tool manufacturing company. Over the years it grew to be the 2nd largest Business of its kind west of the Mississippi.
In high school and later his passion was building and racing cars in Southern California. Traveling to race as far as Bonneville Salt Flats. His winning 32 Coupe was a joy to him.
When Roger and Linda moved to Oregon in 1990 he joined the sisters Rodeo Association, a well known PRCA rodeo. His membership lasted until his death. He loved the Rodeo and volunteering every year to help get the event ready. He and his friends became known as the Four Horsemen and in 2013 they were the Grand Marshals of the Rodeo.
He was also a member of the Bend Elks and the Redmond Lions. With the Lions club he happily helped for many years to organize the Annual Demolition Derby.
Roger was an easygoing and kind man. Always meeting you as a friend. His friendships lasted a lifetime. His sense of humor was always on display.
He was much loved by family and friends. He will forever be missed and his memory treasured.
