Robert "Bob" Edwards Obituary
Robert (Bob) A. Edwards, age 79, passed away on Sunday, April 15th, 2018 from Acute Myeloid Leukemia.
He was born September 21st, 1938 in McMinnville, Oregon to Willis and Norma Edwards. He was raised in Grand Ronde, Oregon and graduated from Willamina High School in 1956.
He married Alva Bailey on November 28th, 1959. They moved to Coos Bay, Oregon where he drove log truck for Coos Trucking until 1962. While living in Coos Bay they had two daughters, Rhonda Fitzpatrick and Teri Bliss.
In 1962, the family moved to Brookings, Oregon where Bob started his own logging company. He logged for Agnew Timber Products for 20 years.
In 1981 they moved to Central Oregon and he logged for Warm Springs Reservation, LP, DAW, WKO and Fremont Lumber companies for 30 years.
He retired to Garibaldi, Oregon where he continued to operate his Trucking Company until his illness in 2017.
He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Alva Edwards, his daughters, Rhonda (Bob) Fitzpatrick and Teri (Mark) Bliss, five grandchildren, Brandi (Eric) Storjohann, Dustin (Krista) Fitzpatrick, Misty (Matt) Lappi, Derek (Justi) Fitzpatrick and Matthew (Grace) Bliss, 11 great-grandchildren Ashlin, Ben, Luke, Cameron, Kenzie, Madden, Logan, Layton, Reese, Mason and Rhyan, and one brother
Dennis Edwards.
He was proceeded in death by his father and mother.
A celebration of life will be held in Tillamook, Oregon Saturday April 28,2018; 1:00PM at the Tillamook High School cafeteria, 12605 12th St., Tillamook, Oregon.
In Lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Bob’s name to The American Cancer Society or Partners in Care Hospice in Bend, Oregon.
