Robert (Bob) Lyle Carrier

Robert (Bob) Lyle Carrier passed away peacefully on December 23, 2022, at
the age of 80. Bob was born April 19, 1942 in Prineville to George and Goldie
Carrier. He was the youngest of three children. As a child, he enjoyed hunting,
fishing, and had many adventures exploring all the beauty of Central Oregon.
Bob continued his adventures when he enlisted in the Navy in 1958. He traveled
to numerous areas abroad and in states. He loved learning new things and had
a growing fondness in aviation while serving his country. While stationed in Oak
Harbor, WA, he met and married his soul mate, Joan Henley. Bob was not only
a wonderful husband but was also a doting father to Joanie’s three children;
Vicki, Kathi, and Bobby. The children never referred to Bob as their “step” dad,
rather that he was the father they always wanted. After Bob retired from the
Navy, he moved his family back to his hometown of Prineville. He worked for
Butler’s Aircraft and did a little farming until he started his own business, Bear
Auto. Bob also followed up on his love for aviation by becoming a licensed
pilot, which he enjoyed immensely.
Bob was an avid outdoorsman. He loved his horses and especially loved to
hunt, fish, camp, snowmobile, road trips, and boating. He loved spending time
with his family, and when the grandchildren started arriving, his joy of life
increased even more. He continued his love of adventures and passed it on to
his children and then to his grandchildren. He always made things fun.
Bob was predeceased by his parents, his brother, Jerry, his niece Susie, and
his son Bobby. He is survived by his wife, Joan, his two daughters Vicki and
Kathi, his seven grandchildren Robert, Nikolas, Sam, Vicki, Joseph, Amanda,
and Michael, and his four great grandchildren, Zoey, John, Daniel, and Isaac,
and his sister Georgia.
