Robert Frisby Obituary

ROBERT LEE FRISBY, 77, of Prineville, Oregon passed away three days before his 78 birthday on Wednesday, February 18, 2026 at St Charles Hospital Bend, Oregon. He was born on February 21, 1948 to Robert and Lavonne Frisby in Sioux Falls, South Dakota.

Robert, also known as Bob or Bobby, at age 17 joined the US Navy with two years active duty aboard the USS Canberra CAG-2 during 1965 to 1967. As Gunners Mate he served with his shipmates below the DMZ coast of Vietnam, then returned to the States earning him the Vietnam Service Medal, the Vietnam Campaign Medal and National Defense Service Medal.  He continued four years inactive reserves until his 1971 Honorable discharge in California.

With his best friend and wife Wanda and their three daughters, they spent many weekends boating and vacationing on the Colorado River near Parker, AZ in their 21’ Charger day cruiser closed bow ski boat. Many of the family members and his lifelong friends shared in the activities making lasting and exciting memories.

In 1990 as empty nesters, Bobby and his wife Wanda moved to Powell Butte in Central Oregon where he became a business owner of Accurate Glass Service (formerly Cecil’s’ Glass), and Sisters Glass & Mirror until his retirement in 2010. In 2021 they moved to their Prineville home (because it had a big shop).

Bobby loved being around family and good friends and enjoyed boating, waterskiing, classic car projects and very proud of his restorations. With his brother Dennis, he restored Wanda’s trashed field find 1964 Chevrolet Impala Convertible that a fuel line leak started a gas fire landing him at the Legacy Emmanuel Burn Center in 2002.  After his recovery, the 1965 Chevelle Malibu Convertible (also Wanda’s) was on the road, and his pride and joy 1955 2nd Series Chevrolet Hugger Orange with Tru-Flames hotrod Pickup.  His brothers are also classic car and pickup owners.

He was always willing to join in the local cruises and parades with the Rodders, American Legion/VFW, and Band of Brothers. His kind smile, humor and the bonds that he created and developed are forever in our memories.

He is survived by his wife Wanda, three daughters Rebecca Frisby Ott (Troy)-Prineville, Bethanie Frisby-Prineville, Michelle Frisby (Clyde). Mom Sharon Frisby-Prineville, three brothers Ronald (Jeannie) Frisby - Wisconsin, Dennis Frisby -Prineville and Allan (Rose) Frisby – California. Two sisters Carol (Larry) Sellers-California and Tina (Bill) Leaf – Prineville, 4 Grandchildren, 8 Great Grandchildren, along with a host of    in-laws, nieces, nephews and countless friends.

He was preceded in death by his infant brother David Frisby,  father Robert “Pops” Frisby, and sister-in-law Bertie Frisby
