Robert S. Copp passed away at his home in Moro, Oregon on January 4, 2021 at the age of 82. Robert was born on February 8, 1938 in Trinidad, Colorado. Bob’s family moved to Oregon when he was 5 years old, and after living in the valley for many years, relocated to Prineville where he attended Crook County High School. After graduating in 1955, Bob joined the Navy, serving on the USS Kidd. His years of service brought him travel, adventure and great pride.
After his service, Bob moved to Lakeview where he began working in the grocery industry, both in management and ownership. He then changed careers and became involved in the trucking industry, returning to Prineville and near family. After many years, Bob and wife, Mary, moved to Moro, Oregon where they purchased an antique store. His love of collecting historical artifacts, rare guns, and antique cars were an integral part of his life; especially his pride and joy, a 1940 Ford.
Bob will be remembered as a loyal friend, a lover of birds, and a compassionate man with a genuine willingness to help anyone or anything in need. Bob will be greatly missed by numerous friends and family. He is survived by his only sister, Janice Scanlon; nephews, Brian, Brad, and Bruce Scanlon, and niece, Becky (Scanlon) Carter.
