It is with such a heavy heart and great sadness to announce the passing of our loved one, Robert (Robby) Bryson. He was born to James and Mattie (Sutton) Bryson in Sylva, North Carolina. He grew up in Dillsboro, North Carolina, where he met his future wife Jeanette Pangle. They were married January 26, 1946. They were married 68 years until she passed away.
Robert had numerous jobs in Dillsboro, and decided to come west in 1951 to Hoquiam, Washington. He got a job at Polson logging camp helping his wife cook breakfast and he would work at the landing. In 1952, he went to work at the veneer plant. He was working at Blagens in the boiler room, when the shut down in 1962, so he moved his family to Prineville, Oregon. He immediately went to work at Coins (American Forest Products) and retired from there in 1985. He still continued to work doing odd jobs and driving over 100 well into his 80’s.
He loved spending time with his family, growing a garden, especially tomatoes, but his passion was fishing. He was quick witted, and always had a comeback. He was a “jack of all trades” and would be the first to offer a helping hand.
He leaves behind to mourn, his six children who thought he was the “greatest”. Sheila Kristrom of Hoquiam, Washington; Robert L. Bryson Jr. ‘Hubby’ (Juanita) of Ruby, South Carolina; Bobbie McGuire of Prineville; Jerry Brysoin of Hoquiam,; Arlene Stewart of Hoquiam; |Charles Bryson of Hoquiam; 16 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; 15 great great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Jeanette; his parents; 2 brothers, Frank and his twin John B.; 3 sisters, Willie, Ruby, Bertie and Joyce; great grandchild, Tristen; his best friend and companion the dog Tachie.
The family would like to thank the nurse Jolene, case workers Kimberly and Valarie, of Bristol Hospice, for the kind, gentle and loving care they gave our father Robert.
Forever in our hearts. Love you daddy - Sheila, Hubby, Bobbie, Jerry, Arlene and Charles.
