Richard "Dick" Jacobson was born November 21st, 1930, in Geneva, Nebraska, to Harold and Leola Jacobson. The oldest of 7 children, Dick served in the Air Force overseas and, upon returning, spent much of his time around the Pacific Northwest before settling in Prineville in the mid-1960s, working at Coin Millworks as a foreman in the glue room. He married Shirley Moncrief in 1972, and they spent 53 years together as husband and wife, traveling all across the US on their Honda Goldwing and in big and small RVs.
Dick was an avid car collector, but mostly restored them for others to enjoy. His knowledge of and skill in working on Corvairs is most likely unmatched across the globe. He owned many classic cars and numerous versions of Corvairs throughout his life. He also enjoyed playing his guitar and mandolin as he taught himself many songs and enjoyed classic country and Christian music play-alongs.
Dick was a devout Christian who could finish a bible verse aloud before you could finish reading it. He was an incredible father of four kids who were blessed to get his work ethic, sense of humor, and love of traveling the US
Dick is survived by his wife Shirley, daughter Carey (Pimentel) of Portland, and sons Brian (Sarah) of Redmond and Philip of Prineville. Grandsons Jairon of Redmond and Zion of Canyon City. Brother Dean of Prineville and sister Margie of Denver. He was preceded in death by his son Kenny (Zeb) Jacobson.
