Richard "Dick" Allen Grant

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Richard "Dick" Grant, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, and friend. Dick passed away peacefully at home on June 9, 2026, at the age of 87, surrounded by the warm embrace of his family. Born on June 3, 1939, in Condon, Oregon, Dick lived a rich and full life that touched the hearts of many. Dick was the cherished son of Edward and Louise Grant, who predeceased him, as well as his son, Russell Grant, two nephews, Wayne and Larry Paulas, and two nieces, Stacy and Niki Keller. The legacy of love he leaves behind is carried on by his devoted wife, Sharon Grant, his daughter, Kelli Fuentes, and his son, Patrick Grant, along with Patrick's wife, Stacy. He is also survived by his dear siblings, sisters Dorris Paulas and Barbra Hopla, and brother Donnie Grant, all of Prineville. His memory will be treasured by his seven grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren, along with seven nieces and nephews and many close friends who were like family. Dick attended Crook County High School until 1957, where he began to shape the character and work ethic that would define his life. Soon after, he served his country with honor as a member of the United States Navy from 1957 to 1963. This period of service instilled in him a deep sense of duty and camaraderie. Married to Sharon K. Keller August 12th 1960. A man of entrepreneurial spirit, Dick owned and operated Redmond Motor Supply for much of his career. Later, he brought his warmth and humor to the hospitality industry by owning a bar and restaurant in Pendleton, Oregon. His work was not just a career, but a way to connect with others and share his generous spirit. An esteemed member of his community, Dick was a proud honorary lifetime member of the Prineville Elks Lodge and served as the past exalted ruler of the Madras Lodge. He was also a long-time member of the Prineville Band of Brothers, VFW, and Eagles Club. Through these organizations, he fostered a sense of fellowship and contributed to the betterment of his community. Dick had a passion for the great outdoors, especially hunting elk and deer in the Ochoco Mountains with his lifelong friend, Steve Perryman. When not exploring nature, he found solace and joy in tinkering around his yard and shop, perfecting his surroundings with care and diligence. Those who knew Dick remember him as a man with a great big loving heart, a kind spirit, and a witty sense of humor. He had an uncanny ability to make people smile and feel valued, leaving a lasting impact on everyone he met. Friends and family are invited to celebrate Dick's life at a service on June 23, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at the Prineville Memorial Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to Prineville Band of Brothers , honoring Dick's commitment to service and community. As we bid farewell to a remarkable man, we hold onto the love and laughter he shared with us all. Dick's memory will forever remain in our hearts, a testament to a life well-lived and deeply cherished.
