Rene R. Desmarais

Mr. Rene R. Desmarais of Prineville, Oregon died Friday, May 17, 2024
peacefully at his home with family after a long illness. He was married to
Dorothy (Richardson) Desmarais for 52 wonderful years. Rene was born in
Lowell, Massachusetts the son of the late Victor Desmarais and Ida
(Desmarais) Perigny. He was a graduate of a boys Catholic seminary high
school in Bucksport, Maine and attended the Oblate College and Seminary
in Natick, Massachusetts majoring in philosophy and mathematics. He was
employed with Condor Pacific Industries in Newbury Park, California until
his retirement and moved to Prineville, Oregon. Rene was a very
affectionate, intelligent, dedicated and hardworking individual who always
put the needs of others ahead of his own. He was fascinated with the
universe and enjoyed playing cards and board games with family. He
always lent a helping hand and words of encouragement to others. Other
than his wife Dorothy, he is survived by his daughters and their husbands
Kristie and Brian Humeston, Kimberly and Amir Hariri, two grandchildren
Brianna and Tyler Humeston, his sister Jeanne Roy and many nieces and
nephews. He was the brother of the late Donald Desmarais, Blanche
Kearnan and Lorraine Tyrrell. There will be a private family ceremony at
sea with Rene’s ashes.
