OWEN JACK ULAM

Owen of Powell Butte, OR also known as OJ by
family and friends passed away peacefully at
home surrounded by love ones. He had battled
cancer and dementia. He was 80.
OJ was born in Mrytle Creek, OR to Lola (Weston)
and Jack Ulam. He grew up there but later moved to Bend, OR where he worked as a logger and later years drove truck for HapTaylor & Sons. He retired from Knife River.
OJ was proceeded in death by his parents, a son Jack Ulam, brothers Albert and Pat Ulam along with the love of his life, Floy Ward in 2018. He is survived by his daughters, Sarita Paxton-Shultz, Anna Ulam and sons Matthew and Russell Ulam, step-son Dallon Paxton, brother Robert Ulam and sister Merrilee Ulam. He will also be missed by multiple Grand and Great-GrandAngels and his and Floys’ beloved dog, Zoey, who never left his side.
He loved hunting, fishing and woodworking. He was a perfectionist with a dry sense of humor filled with orneriness!! Under his tough exterior he had a loving and kind heart.
He was not a religious man but prayed the prayer of salvation to accept Jesus Christ with his daughter, Sarita several months before he passed knowing Floy was waiting for him at Heavens gate.
A Memorial Service will be this Sunday. January 31st at Prineville Funeral Home at 1:00. Address is 199 NE 10th St., Prineville, Oregon
Memorial donations may by made in memory of OJ to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
