REMEMBERING NANCY L SERJEANT

JANUARY 1, 1947 TO OCTOBER 28, 2025

Nancy L. Serjeant (Barnett) (Nan, Nanny) passed away peacefully in Bend, Oregon on October 28, 2025.  She was born on New Year's Day in Klamath Falls and moved with her family to Albany as a small child where she graduated from Albany Union High School.  She worked at Albany Frozen Foods where she met her husband of 34 years Richard.  When Richard retired, they traveled and eventually moved to the Oregon Coast where they lived until Richard passed in 2014.  

Nancy was diagnosed with Rheumatoid Arthritis in her 20’s and lived with the debilitating disease for 50 years.  In spite of the pain and surgeries she had over the years, she enjoyed playing games, cooking, and crafting and loved to go to casinos where she was quite lucky while Richard was not;... .as she used to say.   She especially enjoyed family get-togethers and the days that she and Richard spent with her brother, Bill and sister-in-law Peggy.  

After Richard passed Nancy moved to Albany and then Bend to be close to her niece, Julie.  Nancy loved children and enjoyed spending time with her nieces and nephews and their families and Richard’s granddaughter. Nancy was loved by many, including her caregivers at the assisted living facilities for her spunk, frankness, humor and her ability to remain positive in spite of the pain she endured. We will miss her.  

She is survived by her brother Bill Barnett and sister-in-law Peggy, nieces Julie (Jim) and Rachel (James), Carol and Traci; nephews Jeremy (Brandi), Johnny (Lori), Mark (Coleen) and their families. She was preceded in death by her nephews Travis and Kevin; her sisters Barbara and Caroline and her mother, Beulah and father Alvan (Mint) 

The family would like to thank the caring staff of Regency Village Bend and Partners In Care Hospice who provided support and love to Nancy and her family.

A memorial in her honor will be held at the Oregon Coast in the late Spring/Summer.
