It is with profound sadness to announce that Mike passed away on July 31st, 2025 with his family by his side. He was at peace & cared for by the most beautiful team of hospice workers- his angels. Mike was married for nearly 53 years to his lifelong sweetheart , Linda. Together they raised two kids- Teige & Grace. And deeply loved his grandkids- Mikayla & Jacob. He had a friendship & fond bond with Jay- his daughter’s husband. Mike was truly a remarkable man- his generosity will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew him. He was the guy whom everyone gravitated to when they were in his presence. His smile & laugh were as genuine as his promises- which were everything. Mike’s journey in life showed unwavering characteristics of love, passion for his interests, dedication to his family, success and brilliance to share. Mike found joy in nature- which he shared & taught wherever he had the chance . His affection for Linda was a beautiful steadfast love on display for all to see. Mike deeply appreciated his parents and spoke about them frequently. He enjoyed a blessed childhood growing up with three siblings and a wonderful cousin. Mike’s passion for life is evident in the legacy he left behind. Dad was a dedicated member & teacher of NAMI. He was a strong businessman, brilliant rancher & hay farmer, adoring father, and a true companion to his friends. Dad made friends in all circles & had positive things to say about everyone. He had a story for everything! We often referred to him as a walking encyclopedia. If you didn’t know something- ask Dad. He’d have an answer! Dad took immense pride in his business success at helping to get multiple medical devices & pharmaceuticals passed by the FDA- including the first ever pulse oximeter & Sonicare toothbrush, to name a couple. Mike’s wit was a family favorite. Mike was without fail willing to offer a hand- never wanting to burden others. Always putting others first. Mike invested the last 20 years of his life to his family, specifically creating space to teach his grandchildren about life. Dad’s experiences with raising kids, grandkids & loving on his wife emphasized his deep ability to love us with a critical focus on faith, family & integrity. We witnessed firsthand how tragic an organ failure diagnosis is on your most beloved person. We were devastated for many years watching dad afflicted by near death moments from heart failure. He was shocked back to life multiple times & continued to have the grit of the “fighting Irish” to keep going. The last several months were particularly painful to witness. Dad’s positive attitude didn’t allow him to ever surrender to his illness until the last few hours. God wanted him in heaven & Dad was aware his minutes were numbered. I’d like to write forever about the imprint that Mike has left on us all. May the memories each of you have about Mike continue in your hearts forever.
