Michael John Lanier

Michael John Lanier 69 of Prineville went to be with the Lord on September 22, 2020.

Michael was born to Gerald and Jeanniene “Billie” Lanier on August 2, 1951. Michael married Judi in 1972 and they raised son Rick and 3 step children: Kristi, Mark and David. They were divorced in 1984 and then he married Kathy in December of 1984 and they had 36 wonderful years.

Michael was a beautiful man and a very hard worker. Everyone who knew him loved and cared for him.

Michael made beautiful bird houses and a cigar box guitar just out of his head. I always called him MacGyver from a tv show where this guy had the ability to make things work that shouldn’t. That was Michael. You could put him on any kind of machinery that he never saw before and in ten minutes he would have it started and down the road.

Michael was preceded in death by his father Gerald Lanier.

Michael is survived by his beloved dog Tiena, his soul mate Kathy, his “mommy” Billie Lanier, his aunt Sammie, son Rick (Danielle), sisters Marianne (Jon) and Kathy (Mike), 3 step children Mark, David, and Kristi, grandchildren Jakob and Owen, and several nephews, nieces and cousins.

A memorial service for family and friends will be held sometime in the spring of 2021.

Michael was a loving son, brother, husband, father and grandfather; he will be dearly missed.
