Mike Coyle was born in Torrance, California to Robert and Julie Coyle. The exact middle child in a family of five, the family eventually moved to Central Oregon, where he then attended school in Prineville, Oregon, graduating from Crook County High School in 1975.
He started his career working for Les Schwab Tire Centers, dedicating 30+years to sales and management before retiring in 2010. Mike and his wife also owned and operated a local convenience store in Prineville for over ten years.
In 1996, Mike married Diane (Edgerly) Coyle. Together, they shared five children and five grandchildren.
Mike was passionate about many hobbies and fully enjoyed growing up and living in an area that has opportunities for those interests. An avid golfer, he belonged to the Prineville Golf & Country Club for many years, playing regularly and participating in tournaments. He also loved hunting and fishing with family and friends throughout his life, and shared many memorable trips with them. Mike and Diane loved visiting the Oregon Coast and Eastern Oregon, as well as an occasional trip to a casino.
A mild-mannered, generous, and kind soul, Mike will always be remembered as an incredible husband, father, brother, uncle, and friend. He never hesitated to help someone in need or lend an ear to listen to your troubles. His sense of humor and way of putting others at ease with his presence will be greatly missed. He was a beloved father and “Papa” to his kids, and always made sure they never heard him say the word “No.” Haha.
He is survived by his wife and best friend, Diane Coyle. His children, Tara Doty (Chris), Joby Bilyeu, Landon Howlett, Jory Hamon (Cristin), and Ashton Coyle. His grandchildren, Ryan Bilyeu, Mae Doty, Lu Doty, Gage Hamon, and Kinzie Hamon. His siblings, Bob Coyle, Julie Winitsky, Mark Coyle, and Bridget Sullivan, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
At his direct request, no service will be held.
