Marta was born on March 12, 1947 in Portland, Oregon to two loving parents, Eugene and Louise Hiney.
Marta left this world to be with her Creator on December 15, 2023 in Bend, Oregon. She will be greatly missed by all the peoples lives she has touched on this journey through life.
There will be a graveside service for Marta at the “Pilgrims Rest Cemetery” near Powell Butte, Oregon on January 5, 2024 at 10:00 am.
The work that she loved most was waitressing, for she loved people and being of service to them. Marta was happiest when she could get them to smile. She also worked at Bend Memorial Clinic for 11 years as their purchasing agent and Head of Central Receiving. During this same period of time Marta ran her own successful maintenance business, this included everything to keep a building looking and functioning properly.
Marta loved being back country almost as much as she loved people. That is where she found peace of mind and would talk with her Creator.
Searching for these places many times was more fulfilling than finding them because it was the journey that made it an adventure. Living among Native American People while her husband worked with the National Park Service, was where she found a true sense of finding where she belonged. “Marta truly Loved”.
For the time being Marta has left behind her son, Martin Lee Parr and his wife Andrea, her grandson, Christian Lee Parr and his wife Katti. Her daughter, Darlene Leslie Parr and her granddaughter, Madison Abby Parr. Her husband of almost 47 years, who waits anxiously to be with her again Kerry.
