Mark Revere Baxter, 79, Passed away peacefully on March 10, 2025, in Madras, Oregon, just 15 days short of his 80th birthday.
Mark was born on March 25, 1946, in Dallas, Oregon, to Clayton Charles Baxter and Betty Jean (Trueax) Baxter. After graduating from Crook County High School, he began working loading boxcars in Prineville, Oregon. He later moved to Madras and held several positions at Warm Springs Forest Products until his retirement.
Mark had a passion for fast and beautiful cars. In retirement, he turned his love of antique vehicles into a cherished hobby of painting and restoring them. Celebrated 41 years of sobriety and was dedicated in helping others in their recovery.
On April 3, 1965, he married Lois Crumley, and together they welcomed two children: Sheila Ann (Baxter) Bridgman and Mark R. Baxter Jr.
Later, he married Christina (Gibson) Beyer on September 4, 1971, and soon after they welcomed a daughter, Shandal Marie (Baxter) Johnson.
He was preceded in death by his father, Clayton Charles Baxter; his son, Baby Baxter; his Grandfather Roland Trueax; his stepdad, Dave R. Perrin; and his mother, Betty Jean (Trueax) Perrin.
Mark is survived by his sister, Dianne A. (Lanning) Barclay; his brother, Clayton Lee Baxter; and his children, Sheila Bridgman, Mark Baxter Jr, and Shandal Johnson. Grandchildren Rachel (Bridgman) Scharrer, Jared Bridgman and Dustin Bellah.
A remembrance will be held on May 9th at 1:00 PM at Pioneer Park, 450 NE 3rd St, Prineville, OR 97754. Please bring your favorite dish to share for a picnic following the remembrance.
