Louann Herrick Obituary

Louann Lee Herrick

Born February 29, 1960, in Kansas City, Missouri. She was proud to be a Leap Year Baby and loved her birthday!

She came with heavenly wings and earned her crown on August 1, 2022 in Prineville, Oregon. She was 62 years old. She was preceded in death by her parents, Duane Herrick, Catherine (Lorie) Herrick, sister Debra Diggs, brother, Michael Herrick, Brother in law Edwin Harper and nephew Daniel Henderson. Louann leaves her Step-mother, Kristina Herrick of Oregon, sisters: Erin Harper of Garrison, Texas,  Christine Van Atta (Jim) of Friday Harbor Washington (Hatteras Island), Katrina Jones (Justin) of Eagle, Idaho and Joann Pollack of Independence, Missouri as well as the Colwell, Herrick, Renault, Van Atta, Madras Bowl, Hatteras Village Families and her friends at Sunflower House.

Her nephews: Edwin Harper (Tressa) of Nacogdoches, Texas, James Harper (Kelly) of The Colony, Texas,  Kyle Herrick (Gail) of Grain Valley, Missouri and Christopher Stutts (Crystal) of Grain Valley, Missouri. Her nieces: Lorie Harper (Bryan Johnson) of Austin, Texas,  Madeline Wetmore (Scott) of Fayette, Missouri, Elle Renault of Kansas City, Missouri, and Daisy Jones of Eagle, Idaho.

Fifteen Great nieces and nephews and four Great-Great’s and so many friends all over the world whom she taught many life lessons of pure love and her whole heart.

Lulu loved Jesus and was a devout Catholic.

She lived in four states (MO, FL, OR, NC) and Trinidad, West Indies.

She never met a stranger and was loved by all that knew her.  She was always quick to give you a hug or a smile and you were in her heart forever. She was an animal lover, loved to dance, do her puzzles books, play the piano, ride her bicycle, eating KC and Sonny’s BBQ, having a “Mike’s” on Friday, watching Grey’s Anatomy and loved her favorite football teams: The Kansas City Chiefs and Notre Dame. She was a gold medalist in the Special Olympics and went to the World Games in 1999 in North Carolina, where she won a silver and bronze medal (She helped the gold medalist win, stating that she needed it more!). She liked saying she had more “gold medals, than Mark Spitz”.  She worked for the Foundation Workshop for 25 years before she “Be tired” (Retired).

LuLu was our angel on this earth and it has been our honor to watch over her. Now she will be watching over us, from the best seats in the house!

In lieu of flowers: family requests that you make a donation to The Special Olympics or an animal shelter in LuLu’s name.

Visitation will be at a later date in Kansas City, Missouri.

Please feel free to leave notes of your favorite Lulu ism’s, she made us all laugh!
