Lorren Williams Obituary

Lorren Allen Williams, a long-time resident of Prineville, passed away peacefully Monday, June 14th at his home in Carriage Place Assisted Living with his daughter Debbie by his side.

Lorren was born in Fox Valley, Oregon on July 23rd, 1941, to Walter and Vernita Williams.  Shortly thereafter his family relocated to Prineville and lived and worked on his maternal grandparent’s ranch on Duncan Creek.  He attended the Howard School and then later graduated from Crook County High School where he met and later married his wife, Judy (Allen) Williams. They had two daughters, Lori and Debbie.  While Judy and Lorren later separated, together they closely co-parented their daughters and remained dear friends until the time of his passing.

Lorren worked for Les Schwab Tire as a manager in the retread center.  He later went into logging where he operated heavy equipment for several different logging companies.   Eventually he went to work for the Crook County Road Department where he was well known for his grading skills.  He retired after many years of service with the county.  Never one to sit idle, after retiring he continued to do part-time grading work for Craig Woodward when needed.

Lorren enjoyed the great outdoors.  He knew the Ochoco and Maury mountains like the back of his hand. He spent many years doing field trials with his hounds and won many championships. He also loved hunting and fishing and camping with all his friends.  He loved to go out dancing and kicking up his heels. He was often the life of the party.  In his later years after retirement, he never forgot his way around the mountains and spent countless hours driving the maze of forest roads, stopping to talk to anyone that had a minute.  He did not know a stranger.

Lorren is survived by his daughter Debbie Williams, his brothers and sisters in law Merle and Ruby Williams and Donnie and Dawn Williams, his sister Karren Coffman, numerous nieces and nephews, Jimmy and Walt Williams, Veronica, Robert and Donnie Williams and Janene and Danny Coffman, and his adopted granddaughter Ariana Orosco, who loved and cared for him like he was her own.

Lorren was preceded in death by his daughter Lori Williams, his brother Hugh Williams, and his parents.

Our family would like to extend our gratitude to all the staff at Carriage Place Assisted Living for their loving, patient, and compassionate care for Lorren.  A very special thank you is also extended to Trina Percifield for her generous and caring support while he was at home and after he moved to Carriage Place.

Per Lorren’s wishes, a private memorial service for the family will be held at a later date.
