Lorraine Francis (Mendes) Fortado

Lorraine Francis Fortado, 83 of Prineville, OR passed away January 23, 2020. Lorraine was born July 24, 1936 to Tony and Margaret (Tosta) Mendes in Hollister California.

Lorraine was a loving wife to Frank for 63 years, mother, and grandmother. For 28 years, Lorraine drove school bus for the Eagle Point School District. When she retired, she spent all of her time gardening, camping, crocheting, hunting, and spending time with her son and grandchildren. Her summers were spent at the fair with grandchildren and driving the fair bus for RVTD.

Lorraine loved telling stories from the old times sharing family photos and recipes with the grandchildren.

She is survived by her son John Fortado and his wife Jeanne of Philomath, Oregon one sister Nadine Webster of Medford Oregon; Grandchildren Ronald Fortado Jr of Oregon City, Oregon, Dustin Fortado and his wife Marissa of Ruch, Oregon, Savannah Fortado of Philomath, Oregon, Joli Hobbs of Medford, Oregon, Sierra Fortado of Portland, Oregon.

Lorraine was preceded in death by her husband Frank Fortado of 63 years, her parents Tony and Margaret Mendes, her sister Florine Wolf and her brother Louis T. Mendes.
