Lois Kekoa Obituary

Lois Diana Kekoa (Nunes). Was born on November 13, 1931 in Honolulu, Hawaii and was the second
oldest of five children. Due to a severe stroke, she passed peacefully on March 2, 2022 at 9:20PM at
Partners in Care Hospice House in Bend, Oregon at the sweet age of 90 years.
Lois was talented and started work at a young age. She was a nanny for a Chinese family in her younger
years then worked for the phone company to help put her husband through college. She later worked
for Dalmo Victor approving plans for the space shuttles, then later started a career in hair dressing and
later managed a beauty salon.
Lois was united in marriage to Richard L. Kekoa in Honolulu, Hawaii. Richard and Lois spent the early
part of their retirement years sailing in the Mediterranean before finally settling back on land in Spray,
Oregon.
Lois’s passions were her family, reading, knitting sweaters, beanie’s and scarfs for her grandchildren
and great grandchildren. She loved her gardening tending to it for her fresh vegetables and her fruit
from her orchard. She loved chatting and catching up with friends and family on a regular basis.
She is survived by her younger sister Carol Castro, 5 Children: Erick Kekoa and his wife Sha, Kimberly
Hickey and her husband Norm, James Kekoa and his wife Nadiya, Jon Kekoa and his wife Suzy and Stacey
Cordaway and her husband Jim. Her five grandchildren Brigid, Camille, Cassandra, Loni, and Zachary. Her
two great grandsons: Aiden and Caleb.
Lois requested to be cremated and wanted to have her ashes scattered on the hillside above the house
in Spray. The family will have a private family gathering for her and her husband, Richard at a future
time.
