Linda Rachelle (McCarty) Chadwick of Prineville, Oregon passed away on Oct. 8th as a result of auto accident. She was born on March 3rd,1954 in Anchorage, Alaska to parents Thomas Dixon and Elizabeth Baldwin. Her father was stationed there with the US Air Force at that time. As a child, she moved around a lot throughout the west coast.
Linda moved to Pocatello, ID in 1979 with her then husband Mike Ewing (Blackfoot, ID) and son Terry. She and Mike worked at AMI Semiconductor and later had Matthew. After a divorce in 1988, she met her current husband Michael Chadwick (Prineville, OR) who also worked at AMI. They enjoyed mountain biking, snow skiing, and rafting together and married on August 25th, 1990. They moved to Riverton, UT in 1996 for a new job opportunity for her husband where she made a wonderful home for them. They then moved to Prineville, OR in 2006 for yet another adventure and they built a wonderful house together and to this day call home.
Linda loved cats and dogs and especially her two adorable kitties Karli and Gigi. She worked hard to spoil her girls.
Linda did many things in her working career Engineering Tech and Microbiologist in the Pocatello, ID and Salt Lake City, UT areas, Realtor in the Salt Lake City, UT and Prineville, OR areas, and finished her working days as a Home Care Provider in Prineville. She fully retired July 1st of this year and was very much looking forward to her adventure in life.
Linda loved adventuring, travel, shopping, and time with her family and friends. She recently did all these things just the month before her accident with her husband and told her best friend Deb Elbrader (Pocatello, ID) that it was a most enjoyable trip because it included all of the things she loved most. She was working on the plans for her next adventure.
Linda was a wonderful and caring person. She enjoyed “date nights” with close friends or hanging out with small groups of friends where she would listen to their stories. She enjoyed being on the water on a warm and sunny summer day kayaking, rafting, drifting, fishing, or just floating.
Linda enjoyed many volunteer opportunities: Science fairs, food banks, youth mentoring, library, and her passion Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation to name a few. She was very much looking forward to the coming Central Oregon RMEF Banquet pre season and seeing all her RMEF family that she hadn’t seen in a few months. Linda got involved with RMEF when she lived in Utah where she was part of two Chapters (Salt Lake City and Park City). She was a “Life Member” of RMEF in the Central Oregon Chapter.
