Lewis E. Petersen, 82, a resident of Bend passed away on April 25, 2025, surrounded by his loving family.
Lewis was born on March 30, 1943 in The Dalles, Oregon to John C. Petersen and Marjorie Morgan Petersen. The younger brother of Jeannie Petersen.
Louie worked for B&B Leasing in Oregon City from 1963 until he retired on April 1, 1998. In the 60’s he was a member of the Push Car Association at the Portland Speedway. He and Merrilyn owned the Buena Vista Grocery Store in Oregon City, aka the Little Store.
He enjoyed camping, hunting, fishing and playing cards, especially Canasta and Five Crowns. A lover of the holidays and family gatherings, you could always count on him having a smile and a joke to share.
Survived by his wife of 63 years, Merrilyn, dog Baby, daughter Kim Riley (Mike), son Kevin Petersen (Ann), son Keith Petersen (Megan). Grandchildren Shauna, Nicole, Casey, Nick, Kody and Jamie. Great grandchildren, Gavin, Ryan, Aubree, Addilyn, Warren, Waylen, Paisley, Finnley, Nolan, Everley and Roarik.

Lewis’ legacy lives on in the lives of his family and all who knew him. He will be dearly missed and remembered for his sense of humor, generous heart and unwavering love for his family.
