Leland Hale Obituary

Leland Lynn Hale was born Dec. 21, 1933, to Lynn Rufus Hale and Lena Jane
Durst Hale, at Prairie City, Oregon. He was the oldest of eight children. They
lived in Long Creek, Oregon until 1942, when the family moved to Prineville.
His grade school years were spent at the Oregon State School for the Blind
in Salem, Oregon, 1940-1948. He attended high school in Prineville and
graduated in 1952.
He worked at the Prineville Bakery for 14 years for four different owners
and in four locations. Later he worked at COIN Mill for 15 years, 1965-1980,
when he was forced to retire due to vision problems.
He married LaRue Jennings in Prineville. They have three children: David of
Provo, Utah, DeAnna of Prineville, Oregon, and Debbie of Grand Ledge,
Michigan. They enjoyed travelling to visit friends and relatives, as well as
various points of interest.
He was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, and
served in many positions of responsibility.
Leland was preceded in death by his parents, Lynn and Lena Hale, his
brother Lester Hale, and his sisters Lucille Hale, Lavelle Ferguson, and
Loretta Lein.
He is survived by his wife LaRue Hale, children David Hale (Laurie), DeAnna
Simpson, and Debbie Bingham (Lawrence), nine grandchildren, and eight
great-grandchildren. Also his brothers Lloyd Hale (Raydon) of West Linn and
Larry Hale (Bonnie) of Oregon City, and sister Lavonne Hale of Portland and
numerous nieces and nephews.
