Lee Daly passed away January 28, 2023.
Born in Payette, Idaho, her family moved to Kinzua, and Bridal Veil, Oregon, where she graduated from Corbett High School and later met and married Bob Daly, with whom she had three daughters, Shannon Alves, Terri Daly, and Kelly Salisbury.
Lee had a strong sense of fun and loved spending time with her friends and racing sports cars. She was a member of the Cascade Sports car club, and Team continental, where she raced a TR3 Triumph and an MGTD. She enjoyed organizing and registering the contestants, and all aspects of the clubs. She was a skilled crafter, who particularly excelled at crocheting, quilting, and tole-painting
Above all she was devoted to her family and an advocate for her children. She believed women could do anything and she raised her daughters to be strong and independent, like she was. In the late 60’s and early 70’s, she was a Campfire leader who thought outside of the box, taking girls on airplane rides, teaching them practical skills, like small electrical installation and how to use tools for small home repairs. After she and Bob moved to Prineville in 1996, she and two other women started a group at the Prineville Senior Center making quilts and blankets for people involved with domestic violence, child welfare, or anyone in need.
She is survived by her husband of 67 years and three daughters.
