Larry Gilbert Brown died peacefully at his home on Saturday, May 6. Larry was born on August 28, 1940, in Fresno, California to Ralph and Marion Brown.
Larry attended Oregon State University and the University of Oregon. While in college, he met his wife, Patricia L. (Wright) Brown. Larry worked a long career in forestry. Over his career, he held roles with the US Forest Service, Potlatch, and International Paper Company, owned a logging company, and then finished his career in forest land management. Larry was a dedicated Rotarian.
Together, Larry and his wife Patsy enjoyed travel, the outdoors, hunting, hiking, skiing, playing tennis, cards, and spending time with family. Sadly, Larry lost his wife Patsy, after 51 years of marriage, in July 2015.
In 2017 Larry met Judy Daugherty and found joy in spending time with her. They enjoyed playing cribbage and cards with friends and laughing every day. Larry will be greatly missed by those who knew him.
Larry is survived by his son Jim Brown of Redmond, Oregon, daughter, Jennifer(John) Nelson of Pacific City, two grandchildren, Lilly Nelson, Pacific City, and Max Nelson, Pacific City, his sister Barbara Ross of Fresno, CA. Larry was also survived by his special companion Judy Daugherty of Redmond, OR.
He was preceded in his death by his late wife, Patricia(Wright) Brown, and his parents.
