Kent L. Brandon, 70, lost his battle with dementia and cancer on October 22, 2019, with his wife Becky by his side.
Kent was born in Myrtle Point, Oregon to Marlin and Alberta (Russell) Brandon. He grew up in Coquille, Oregon and graduated from Coquille High School. After high school Kent was drafted into the Army where he served in Vietnam. When he returned, Kent went to college in Ashland to become a teacher. After realizing this wasn’t the career path he wanted to take, he then joined the Oregon State Police. Kent started as a Traffic Officer in Prineville and later transferred to Coos County as a Fish and Game Officer where he retired after serving 25 years. In 2002, Kent returned to Prineville where he built his retirement home.
At a young age Kent developed a passion for riding motorcycles which continued throughout his life. He also enjoyed camping, skiing, fishing, crabbing, hunting, and spending time with family and friends. Kent’s friendships meant a lot to him and he was always there to lend a helping hand.
Kent is survived by his wife Becky, his daughter Natalie Brandon of Redwood City, CA and his dog Maycee. He was preceded in his death by his parents, Marlin Brandon and Alberta (Brandon) Welch.
A celebration of life is being planned for a later date.
