Kathleen Mary (Nelson) Wall of Bend Oregon was called to her heavenly home February 25, 2023 after suffering a heart attack.
Kathy was born August 5, 1954 to Mary Simms and Gordon Nelson in Hawthorne CA. She spent some of her early years in California and also in Bend OR, ultimately moving to Kinzua OR where she graduated from high school from Wheeler High School in 1972. There she met her sweetheart John Wall whom she eventually married on December 13, 1975. After high school she completed the nursing program at Bryman School of Nursing in Portland.
Kathy and John settled in Bend Oregon in 1976. She started her career as a NeuroDiagnostic Technician at St. Charles Medical Center where she worked for 43 years. Kathy took great pride in her career and considered her coworkers her family.
Kathy had an outgoing personality and a heart of gold. She was always up for a good time with friends and family. John and Kathy enjoyed hunting the hills of Eastern OR with their dog Chuk. Kathy loved fishing and camping. She could also be found reading, crafting, and watching the Oregon Ducks play. Most of all she delighted in spending time with her kids, grandkids, and great granddaughter. She filled her 68 years surrounded with a lot of love and fun.
Kathy is preceded in death by her mother Mary Simms, her father Gordon Nelson, and her step-father Dempsey Simms. She is survived by her husband John Wall, her daughters Erin Burk (Doug Burk) and Kelly Matties (Jeremy Matthies), her Burk grandchildren Genevieve (21), Ignatius (20), Maximilian (18), Zaida (17), and Dominique (15), her Matthies grandchildren Oscar (15), Mosely (13), and Scout (11), her great granddaughter Penelope Kathleen Burk, her brother Mike Nelson and her niece Lisa Helms.
Funeral Services will be held at St. Francis Of Assisi Catholic Church in downtown Bend on Saturday March 11, 2023 at 11:00 with a reception to follow at the Riverhouse in the Currents building. She will be laid to rest in Deschutes Memorial Gardens.
