Juanita Rosella Loveland
April 4, 1945 – October 23, 2025
Juanita Rosella Loveland, 80, beloved mother, sister, aunt, and friend, passed away peacefully on Thursday, October 23, 2025, in Bend, Oregon, surrounded by her loving sons, her sister, and her niece.
Juanita was born on April 4, 1945, in Prineville, Oregon, to Virgil Osborn and Frankie Rosella Potter. She grew up in Prineville and graduated from Crook County High School in 1963. In her younger years, Juanita worked at Rexall Drugstore and later in the hospital laboratory before following her passion for beauty and creativity by attending beauty school in Eugene.
After completing her training, she worked for several years in her foster mother’s beauty shop in Prineville before marrying Ross Loveland in 1966. Together, they built a home and raised two wonderful sons, Kevin and Corey. Although the couple later divorced, Juanita remained deeply devoted to her family and community. While raising her boys, she opened her own beauty shop in her home, allowing her to balance her love for family with her professional career.
Juanita’s dedication, kindness, and gentle spirit touched everyone who sat in her chair. Later in life, she joined the beauty school at Mount Hood Community College, where her talent and leadership led her to become the school’s director. She was deeply proud of the many students she mentored and the lifelong friendships she built throughout her career. After retirement, Juanita spent some time living with her son Kevin in La Grande.
Juanita’s life was filled with love, laughter, and devotion to her family. She found joy in simple moments—sharing stories, spending time with loved ones, and caring for those around her. She was a very loving and caring grandmother to all her grandchildren. Her warmth, kindness, and compassion will be dearly missed but never forgotten.
She is survived by her sons, Kevin (Tina) Loveland of Union, OR., and Corey Loveland of La Grande, OR.; her sister, Shirley Taylor of Bend, OR., Pauline and Larry Powell of Dayville, OR., several grandchildren, nieces and nephews, and many other family members and friends who loved her dearly. She was preceded in death by her parents, Virgil Osborn and Frankie Rosella Potter, and her baby sister.
A Graveside Service will be held on Saturday, November 8, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. at Osborn Cemetery, located off Dollarhide Road in Mitchell, Oregon. A reception will follow at the Grange Hall in downtown Mitchell, where family and friends are invited to share memories and celebrate Juanita’s life.
She will be forever in our hearts, and her love and light will continue to shine through all those she touched.
