At the age of 74 John Douglas Poling passed away Saturday August 16th, at the facility of Awbery Place; Memory Care Bend Oregon, where he was a resident.
Doug was born in Yakima Washington on March 8th 1951 to the the late John Douglas Poling and Ella Kathleen Ray. Doug was loved dearly and will be greatly missed, a father, son, sibling, and grandfather/great grandfather. His hobbies included fishing, fishing, and fishing no but he really loved fishing, hiking including morel mushroom hunting, cars, learning/reading, watching TV and spending time with his loved ones.
Doug moved around in his life and experienced a ton of things he was a intelligent man. Doug married his first wife Vicki Lynne Pruitt, they had 2 children together Todd Poling and Nikkol Hendrix. Doug met his second wife Julie Lee Rose and they were very good friends years before they married in June 1999.
Doug is proceeded in death by his wife Julie Lee Poling, Daughter Nikki Hendrix, Mother Ella Ray, Father John Douglas Poling
Doug is survived by his Son,
Todd Poling Grandchildren: Jacob Hendrix, Kenzi Babcock, Ryder Poling and Saylor Poling. Great Grandchildren: Olivia Hendrix, Hayden Babcock and Claire Babcock.
Doug had many accomplishments in his life, including but not limited to being in the army as a dentist hygienist and made dentures he learned a lot while serving his country. Doug also worked labor intensive jobs like "pulling green chain" at the sawmill. Important jobs like being a Mentor/Aid to special education classes at Crook County School District. Doug moved on to being a Maintenance man and Janitorial figure for the Crook County School District as well. He took a lot of pride in the work he carried out, a extremely hard working individual.
Doug was an outstanding and inspirational man. As mentioned before an intelligent, bight, and knowledgeable individual. He was always trying to learn new things to expand his mind. He will be greatly missed by those who loved and care for him, the good he did in his life will carry on and his memory will live on forever.
