Janie Hendrix (Villastrigo) Obituary

On Nov 3rd 2025 at approximately 10:22 PM Janie Ruiz Hendrix (Villastrigo), age 76 passed away peacefully at her home with her daughter by her side in Prineville Oregon. 

    San Juanita (Janie) Ruiz Hendrix (Villastrigo) was born November 19th 1948 in Asherton Texas to the late Francisco Cruz Villastrigo and Teresa Villastrigo (Ruiz); Janie was one of eight silbilings she was the eldest girl in her family, including four brothers and three sisters. Janie was a breathtaking women and so profoundly loved by her family and friends. A devoted wife and mother Janie had such a warm and caring presence, she always had an open home to those she loved. 

   Janie moved from Texas to Central Oregon in her childhood when she was about 8 years old, she moved around Oregon throughout her early years. Janie met her Husband Earl Dewayne Hendrix in the summer of 1969 and quickly fell in love. By February 28th 1970 they were married and shortly after started their family. She had 4 children with Earl and he had 2 children from a previous relationship. They settled in Prineville in the early 80's and stayed for the remainder of their years. 

    Janie got her GED and persuaded her passion for beauty, she attended Phagans School of Beauty in Salem Oregon and graduated as a beautician. She spent 25 plus years in Prineville Oregon as a hair dresser, most of her work was performed at Pats Golden Scissors. Janie absolutely adored her career and was very proud of the work she did at the salon. After she retired from hairdressing Janie spent a lot of her time with family. 

   She enjoyed watching movies, reading, cooking, family outings, and shopping. Janie was an phenomenal cook everything she made was delicious, especially her famous tacos and salsa. She was extremely family oriented Janie raised all of her children and even some of her grandchildren. Family gatherings were a tremendous part of her life, the holidays were consistently spent at her house with everyone together. She found satisfaction in spending quality time with her husband once the house was quite and it was just the two of them. 

   Janie is survived by: 

Sons; Shawn Hendrix and Travis Hendrix. Daughter: Christy Coffer. 

Step Sons; Dewayne Hendrix and Todd Hendrix. 

Grandchildren; Mikey Hendrix, Jade Hendrix-Dill, Noah Lopez, Andrew Lopez, Christopher Hendrix, Seirra Hendrix, Kylie Hendrix, Jacob Hendrix, Kenzi Babcock, Clayton Coffer, Rylee Coffer, Mason Coffer, Erika Hendrix and 13 great grandchildren. 

Siblings; Mario Villastrigo, Norma Harris, Connie Coffer-Villastrigo, and Francisco Jr. Villastrigo. 

    Janie is proceeded in death by: 

Husband Earl Hendrix, Son Michael Hendrix, daughter in-law Nikki Hendrix, Grandsons Gabe Hendrix and Ethan Hendrix, great grandson Malachi Babcock and Siblings; Richard Villastrigo, Carlos Villastrigo, and Debbie Villastrigo. 

 

   There will be services held at The Church of the Nazarene 780 E 1st St, Prineville, OR 97754. On November 10th at 11:00 AM. Graveside will be at Juniper Haven Cemetery at 12:00 PM, and a Potluck proceeding the services will be back at the Nazarene Church approximately 1:00 PM
