Janice Juanita Cathcart of Prineville, Oregon passed away peacefully at St. Charles Hospital in Bend, Oregon on July 8, 2020, she was 81 years old. Janice was born on January 10, 1939 in Topeka, Kansas.
She graduated from Topeka High School in 1957. On October 15, 1960, she married the love of her life Charles Cathcart. They have two sons, Chuck of Nampa, Idaho and David of Prineville, Oregon.
Janice was preceded in death by her parents and granddaughter Kirsten Michelle Cathcart.
Janice is survived by her husband Charles, sons Chuck and David, grandson Kylan, brothers Warren Marlow of Parsons, Kansas and Howard Marlow, Jr. of Topeka, Kansas.
Janice’s passion in life was spreading the word of God to children, teaching piano and singing.
Janice was a long time member of First Baptist Church in Prineville where she sang on the praise team, taught Sunday school and led music at the XYZ program. She also participated in the AWANA program at Calvary Baptist Church and was a Good News Club teacher at New Life Bible Church in Prineville.
She was also part of a group who went weekly to Warm Springs Indian Reservation to spread the good news of Jesus to grade school children.
Janice loved playing the piano and taught hundreds of children and adults how to play the piano.
