James Larson Obituary

James (Jim) Larson was born in Portland, Oregon on March 15, 1937 to Harry and (Emma)
Rosse Larson. He died on January 8, 2025.
Jim graduated from Franklin High School (Portland), Lewis & Clark College, and Willamette
College of Law. He served in the U.S. Navy, eventually retiring as a Commander. While in the
Navy, he met his future wife, Jo Anne Hintz, to whom he was married for 60 years.
Jim and Jo Anne moved to Prineville in 1971 where they raised two daughters: Kristin and Mary
Katherine (Katie). Jim was a member of the Oregon State Bar, and he worked as an attorney,
mostly in Prineville, for 40 years. Jim served on the Crooked River Roundup board of directors,
was a member of Kiwanis, and a volunteer with Habitat for Humanity. He was an active
member of Our Savior’s Lutheran Church. He was an artist and enjoyed travel.
Jim is predeceased by his parents. He is survived by his wife, Jo Anne Larson; daughters,
Kristin Larson and Mary Katherine (Katie) Larson; son-in-law, Ron McCracken; grandchildren,
Arianna Larson and Gavin Larson; niece, Kathy Hintz; and nephew, Tim Hintz.
A Celebration of Life will take place at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church in Prineville on Saturday,
February 8, 2025 at 10:00 a.m.
