James Ronald Harrah
July 13, 1944 – April 28, 2021
Ron passed away peacefully at his home accompanied by his loving wife of 45 years, Mary Joyce Harrah.
He was preceded in death by his parents James Robert and Mabel Hallie Harrah. He is survived by brothers Dennis and John Harrah, sisters Darlene Wescoat and Carol McCamy, son Donald Harrah, daughters Connie Ernsberger and Sherrie Harrah, 2 grandsons, 3 granddaughters, numerous nieces, nephews and loving friends.
He was born in Nevada, Missouri, was a Viet Nam Veteran, worked for the Southern Pacific/Union Pacific Railroads for 42 years. He moved to Prineville, Oregon after his retirement in 2004.
He was deeply loved by his family, church and friends. He will be missed by all who knew him. The youth at church will have a large hole in their heart from his passing. He was compassionate and loving to all people and animals – he didn’t know an unkind word.
Thank you to St. Charles Hospice for their thoughtful and loving care and to the many friends and church family members that supported Joyce during this difficult time.
In Lieu of flowers please send donations in Ron’s name to Prineville Church of Christ.
A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
