Ilene F (Beyer) VanElsberg

Ilene passed away Nov 18, 2018 at St. Charles in Bend with family by her side.  She was born to William and Rose Beyer in Portland on April 28, 1937. She was the middle of three girls.
 
Ilene attended Roosevelt High school in Portland and graduated there in 1955.
 
Ilene met her husband Carlos in Portland in 1961 and after a short courtship married the same year and remained married for 49 years until his passing in 2010.
 
Ilene held a variety of jobs which included working at a picture mill, a wood mill, motel work, clothing store, laundry, the Cookie Company, and her longest and most favorite job was as a Demo coordinator and doing the in-store demos for over 20 years.
 
Ilene loved to shop, cook, decorate for Halloween and Christmas (her favorite) and bake the snacks for after Sunday services at Ascent Christian Church where she was a member since arriving in Prineville in 2012. 
 
Ilene never met a stranger. She would talk to anyone as if she'd known them forever and everyone that knew her said she was the sweetest, nicest and spunkiest lady.  She will be missed by many.
 
Ilene leaves behind her sister Petra Wittren of Arizona, sons Rick Van Elsberg of Pendleton,and Darrell Van Elsberg of Albequerque, daughter Jolene Kaufman of Prineville along with their spouses, grandchildren Karey Eastburn, Brittany Cleveland, Trevor Cleveland, Cassandra Van Elsberg and seven great grandchildren
