Harry-Del (Hawkeye) Hawkins

Harry was born in The Dalles, Oregon; 6th of 7 children. The kids enjoyed growing up in railroad depots, where their father worked as a telegraph operator. He graduated from high school in Maupin, OR, and joined the U.S. Air Force, serving in Puerto Rico with the SAC team.
After his service, Harry married Allene Comers and settled in Oregon, where they had two daughters, Kimberly and Tamara. After Kimberly's passing in 1983, Harry and Allene divorced. He later married Annamarie (Anne) Towner in 1989, with whom he spent the remainder of his life.
Harry enjoyed a 37-year career in law enforcement, serving in various capacities, including with the Redmond Police Department, Jefferson County Sheriff's Office, and Black Butte Police Department, where he retired as Sergeant in 2002. He earned the nickname "Hawkeye" during his law enforcement service and was known for his leadership roles, including overseeing security and police training at the Rajneeshpuram and leading the Jefferson County Mounted Posse.
He was also an active member of the Band of Brothers in Prineville and the American Legion.
Harry is survived by his wife Anne, daughter Tammy Ellenburg, stepdaughter Tammy Baney (Steve Lillegren), stepson Mike Towner (Gail); grandchildren Courtney Courtney Ellenburg Smith (Kellan), Jed Ellenburg, Taylor Ellenburg, step grandchildren Mariah Towner (Paul Dumbauld) Cory (Ashley) Towner, Addy Baney, and 4 great-grandchildren.
