Harold Ward Obituary

Harold Wayne Ward, 68, born March 25, 1951, held the hand of God as he was led home peacefully on November 11, 2019, to be greeted by many family and friends. He was surrounded by family, friends and loved ones--Marilyn, Jason, and Zoey Cook, and his long-time childhood friend Allen Nevel, among others-- traveled from both near and far coming to say their goodbyes during his final days.
He graduated from Crook County High School in 1969 and became a varsity wrestler as a freshmen, attending state all four years.
Harold's character could never be matched by any other. He was stubborn and had a mind of his own. Harold was persistent and fought until the end to get his driver’s license and knee replacement, which the doctors would never approve due to his health, leading him to fire his doctor on a weekly basis. But it stands to reason that he's doing everything he wanted now. Running, jumping, and driving like a crazy man.
He was one of a kind and loved by many. He had a heart of gold and would give the shirt off his own back to help out others. His ornery streak, along with his wild spirit, led to many mischievous adventures leaving behind many memories. Harold left an impression on anyone who ever met him, including many people in his lttle Prineville community town.
His grandkids and great grandkids loved him dearly. He was the only "papa" who had a birthday every time they saw him. Harold enjoyed giving trinkets and treasures to his great grandkids, like horns they could blow and a plethora of marbles they thought would be worth a million dollars. Papa enjoyed pushing them in his walker, telling elaborate stories, teasing and joking with them, watching them play outside, and eating popsicles in his recliner. He especially enjoyed watching out the window while they jumped on the trampoline he had bought for all of them.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents Robert and Annie Harris, his father Roy Ward Jr., his sister Diana Ward, and many close cousins, classmates, and friends.
He leaves behind his mother Mary A. Harris, two daughters, Shawna Jordan and Tonya Walker, and eight grandkids, Vanessa and Beau Stackhouse, Tyler Jordan, Matthew and Kayla Walker, Daimon Walker, Jaustin Walker, and Terrin Walker. He also leaves behind 8 precious great grandkids: Madison Lane and Marli Mai Stackhouse, Orry Wayne-Ramon Walker, Bella Hortensia and Weston Clarence Isherwood, Keyton James and Leighton Ann-Leslie Walker, and Macy Mae Jordan. He also leaves behind many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, and nephews. Harold will be missed by all, but we know he is at peace and flying high. He's soaring as a free man and enjoying his view from above. He will always be remembered and never forgotten.
