Grant Woodward Porfily

Grant Woodward Porfily, born July 24, 1996 in Bend, Oregon to Crista and Scott Porfily. Grant passed away peacefully on May 31, 2020 at his home in Prineville.

Grant graduated from Crook County High School in 2014. He had grown up learning to work on the prairie with his grandpa Craig. Building fence, chasing cows, running equipment, and many more life skills. Grant spent the last ten years working in the family business. He had worked in the yard, in the shop and in the office. His passion was working in the outdoors running heavy equipment on the excavation and environmental cleanup jobs. Grant also did many side jobs on the weekends and during slow times. Lots of yard work, handy man jobs, delivering packages and moving furniture to name a few. He was a young entrepreneur and was always putting in play his next idea to make a buck. Grant was a very hard worker and was always there for anyone that needed a hand.

Grant enjoyed hunting and being in the outdoors. He spent lots of hours on road trips with family and friends hunting mushrooms. He was an avid dog lover and provided the best home and care for man’s best friend. He enjoyed spending time with his brothers, cousins, friends and family at a friendly game of call of duty, or a heated game of monopoly.

Grant learned in his short life that if you have the will you can find the way. He had spent a lot of years fighting through and adjusting to medical adversity. This had also built him a solid foundation for honesty, respect, integrity and most of all a great big heart. Grant had met the love of his life and was moving forward with the next chapters of his life.

Grant is survived by his girlfriend Keani Curtis and new pup Geronimo. His parents Crista and Scott Porfily. His brothers Nash and Holt Porfily. His grandparents Lucy Woodward, Frank and Alana Porfily. Many uncles, aunts, cousins and farm animals.

He was preceded in death by his grandpa Craig Woodward.

Memorial contributions in his memory can be made to the Humane Society of the Ochoco’s in Prineville, Oregon.
