In Loving Memory of Germaine Haberecht (1937-2023)

Germaine Haberecht, a devoted wife, loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, passed away peacefully on August 10th, 2023, at the age of 86. Surrounded by the warmth of her family and the embrace of dear friends, Germaine's courageous battle with endometrial cancer came to an end, leaving behind a legacy of strength, love, and unwavering determination.

Born in 1937, Germaine's journey began in Alma, Quebec Canada, where she grew into a woman of remarkable character. With a heart full of dreams and a spirit unyielding, she embarked on a new chapter of her life with her husband Paul and daughter Esther when she moved to Southern California. Here she gave birth to her second child, her son Mark and embraced both the challenges and the joys that came her way.

As a loving wife, Germaine shared a profound bond with her husband that weathered the tests of time for over 62 years. Their love story was a testament to dedication, partnership, and the beauty of a life shared. Together, they embarked on adventures, created a nurturing home, and supported one another through times of joy and difficulty.

Germaine's nurturing nature extended to her role as a mother. She raised her children with unwavering love, imparting values of kindness, resilience, and compassion. Her legacy continued to blossom further as a grandmother and great-grandmother, creating cherished memories and lifelong bonds that will endure through generations.

In her years of retirement, Germaine found happiness in the serene desert landscape of Banning, California, and later in the tranquil beauty of Powell Butte, Oregon. These places became more than locations—they were a canvas upon which Germaine painted a life rich in experiences, friendships, and moments of quiet joy.

Germaine's battle with endometrial cancer showcased her incredible strength and indomitable spirit. She faced adversity with grace, teaching those around her the true meaning of courage. Even during her fight, her warm smile, kind heart and sense of humor continued to uplift those in her presence.

As we mourn the loss of Germaine, we also celebrate the life she lived. Her journey was one of love, resilience, and the unbreakable bonds of family. Her memory will forever remain a beacon of light in the lives of those she touched.

Germaine Haberecht is survived by her devoted family, including her husband Paul; children Esther and Mark; grandchildren Nicole, Ashley, Zachary, Natalie, Evan; great-grandchildren Kailyn, Easton, Tyler, Ryan; and sisters Yolande and Armande, who will forever hold her in their hearts. A private memorial service will be held at 12:00 noon October 13 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Prineville, Oregon.

Though Germaine's physical presence may be gone, her spirit lives on in the love she shared, the values she instilled, and the memories she created. May she find eternal peace in the embrace of time and love.
