He was born Freddie William Martin Burnett to Demmet H. Burnett and Pearl (Lambert) Burnett on February 22, 1938 in Pittsburg, Oklahoma. He graduated high school there as well.
In 1956, he moved to Prineville, Oregon. He worked on farms, logged and in a sawmill. He was a carpenter since 1970. He built over 100 homes in Prineville. And helped in building The Central Oregonian Newspaper Office, the Prineville Funeral Home and the Pioneer Dentist Office. He built homes in Prineville, Madras, Bend, La Pine, John Day and a bank in Cave Junction, OR. He also worked one summer in Skagway, Alaska.
He married Yvonne Elaine (Thomas), daughter of Ben & Mardell Thomas of Prineville. They were married June 4, 1959. They have 3 kids, Freddie Martin, Jerry D & Shelly (Burnett) Hall, all of Prineville. He has 3 brothers, Harvey Burnett, Lloyd Burnett and Jim Burnett all of Prineville, and 2 sisters, Jane (Burnett) Wilson of Prineville and Katie (Burnett) Ferguson of Redmond. He has 6 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Demmet H and Pearl Burnett, wife Susie (Yvonne) Burnett, son Jerry Burnett of Prineville and 3 sisters, May Harris, Dorothy (Brock) Faber from Prineville and Bonnie Edwards of Washington, and one ½ sister Virginia (Genie) Jones of Arizona.
