Fawnie L (Shrum) Wood

On March 10, 2020, Fawnie Lynn Wood passed away at her home in Prineville.  She was 71 years old.  Fawnie was born July 25, 1948, in Prineville, OR; the oldest of four children of Bud and Eula Shrum.  Fawnie went to Crook County High School, graduating in 1966.  After high school Fawnie trained at Phagan’s Cosmetology College in Eugene, graduating in 1967. 

Fawnie returned to Prineville in 1967 where she married James (Jim) Wood of Prineville.  Jim and Fawnie made their home in Prineville, and were married for 52 years until her death.  Fawnie and Jim had two children, Cord and Jamie, one daughter-in-law Josie, and one granddaughter Dacotah.  She was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. Fawnie was preceded in death by her parents, Bud and Eula Shrum of Prineville.  In addition to her children and granddaughter, she is survived by her husband Jim, sister Sandi Huston, Sister Jackie Brown, brother Day Shrum, and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.

Fawnie is probably most well known in the Prineville community as the owner and operator of the Townhouse Salon.  Fawnie was a beautician for 52 years.  She loved her job, loved her customers, and they loved her in return.
