Evelyn May Schneider

Evelyn May Bahret (Haring) Schneider was born May 24, 1935 and went home to
be with Jesus June 11, 2025.
Evelyn Schneider 90, passed away June 11, 2025 watering her flowers which she
loved very much.
Evelyn was born May 24, 1935 in Seattle, WA to Albert and Violet Bahret. They
lived in Kirkland, North Bend and Puyallup, WA. Evelyn was very active in the
Lutheran Church while growing up. She participated in Sunday School and
Vacation Bible School. Evelyn’s senior year she was picked to try out for the
Daffodil Princess (what an honor that was). Evelyn married John Haring in 1956.
They moved to Santa Ana, CA in 1957. Son Charles (Chuck) Haring was born in
1958. Daughter Bonnie (Haring) Sanders was born in 1960. In 1969 John, Evelyn
and family along with Evelyn’s Mother Violet moved to the McKenzie River in
Oregon where they purchased the McKenzie Village Café and cabins. In 1974 they
leased out the Café and started working the food service at McKenzie School
District. In 1980 Evelyn was part owner with brother Dave in Oakway Flowers and
Gifts in Eugene. In 1983 Evelyn and John moved to Waldport, OR and purchased a
very busy fast food Café The Burger Bar. In 1989 John passed away suddenly.
Evelyn closed the Café and put it up for sale.
In 1991 Evelyn and her Mother moved to Prineville, OR to be close to son Chuck
and his wife Barb who were living in Prineville. In 1993 Evelyn got re-acquainted
with a dear friend Walt Schneider. He had been a close friend of the family while
growing up. Walt lost his first wife earlier in 1993. Evelyn and Walt married in
July 1994. They lived in Kent, WA for 1 year until Walt retired and then purchased
a home in Prineville and moved there in 1996. Evelyn and Walt loved to travel
with their trailer and loved going on cruises. Walt passed away in 2023 at 90
years old. Evelyn’s wishes were to go on an Alaskan Cruise for her 90th Birthday.
May 18-25th of this year her son Chuck and Wife Barb, daughter Bonnie and some

wonderful friends Susie and Robert went on an Alaskan Cruise. Evelyn had an
amazing time. We came home and 17 days later she went home to be with Jesus.
Evelyn was proceeded in death by her parents Albert and Violet Bahret, Husband
John Haring and Husband Walt Schneider, Brothers Don, Dave and Bill Bahret.
She is survived by son Chuck Haring and wife Barb, daughter Bonnie (Haring)
Sanders. Evelyn has five grandchildren, Nick Haring and wife Rachael, Matt Haring
and wife Nikki, Mike Haring and wife Taylor, Benjamin Sanders and wife Galit,
Cynda Sanders and 13 great grandchildren.
Evelyn loved making beautiful floral arrangements along with making quilts for
each grand and great grand child.
Mom we love you more than words can say. You will be remembered and missed
every day. Now rest in peace until we meet again.

A Memorial Service will be held for Evelyn at 11:00am Tuesday, July 15th at
Prineville Funeral Home, 199 NE 10th Street, Prineville, OR 97754
