Evelyn Jean Breese 86 years old passed away February 21, 2018 in Bend Oregon. Evelyn was born in Battle View, North Dakota to Stuart Breese and Mary Barmoen Breese March 17, 1931.
There will be a memorial service honoring Evelyn's life at Southside Church 517 Jadwin Avenue, Richland, Washington, Saturday, March 3, 2018 at 11:00 AM.
Evelyn graduated from Powers Lake High School in 1949, Minot State University in 1955 and Sioux Falls University, and American Baptist Seminary of the West, Berkeley, California 1958.
Evelyn served four American Baptist Churches as minister of education, she became pastor of the Southside United Protestant Church in Richland Washington in 1987, until her retirement in 1997. In 1985 Evelyn received an honorary Doctorate of Divinity Degree from the American Baptist Seminary of the West.
Throughout her life, Evelyn had a special interest in history, music, auto travel, reading, long walks by the river, collecting miniatures, preaching, teaching and family & friends. As a pastor she found special joy in visiting with and caring for members of her congregation. Evelyn had a deep love for her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ whom she served with great joy and grace.
Evelyn was preceded in death by her father, mother, three brothers and a sister. She is survived by a nephew, Herbert Krueger and a niece, Mary Smith-Lucas of Prineville, Oregon and three grand nephews and a grand niece.
Burial will take place at a later date at West Scandia Cemetery near Battle View, North Dakota where several family members are buried.
