Ellen Louise Owens was born March 4, 1952, to Melvin Dean Tillman and Leda Mae Brown (McMurty) in Glendale, Arizona. Ellen passed away Nov. 23, 2018, at the age of 66 with her son and daughter by her side.

Ellen lived in Portland for most of her childhood and teen years. She attended Centennial High School. Shortly after high school, she met Daryl Clark Owens, whom she later married. Ellen had two of her beautiful children, Carrie and Sara with Daryl. Ellen worked as a secretary for the company that she and Daryl built, Owens Enterprises.

In 1984, Ellen moved to Prineville with Daryl to start a new life with her family. After 20 years of marriage, she was divorced. After her divorce, she had her last child, her baby, Austin.

Ellen spent her life surrounded by her family, her children and grandchildren. Ellen had a love for the outdoors, hunting, fishing and family.

Ellen is survived by her son, Austin Michael Owens; daughter, Carrie Ann Hummel (Shane); grandson, Cody Lee Crain (Britney); and Lucky Jack Owens. Ellen is also survived by her three sisters and many nieces and nephews.

Ellen was preceded in death by her daughter, Sara Michele Owens; mother, Leda Mae Brown; father, Melvin Dean Tillman; brothers, Ron Tillman and Donald Watts; and sister, Ruby Silva.

There will be a Celebration of Life held at a later date. Any donations can be made to the Humane Society of the Ochocos.
