Eleanor (Ellie) Johnson

Bend, OR. Eleanor (Ellie) Johnson 99, formerly of East Grand
Forks, MN, passed away December 7, 2024, at Regency Assisted
Living of Bend.
Eleanor was born in Lang, Saskatchewan on April 4, 1925, to
Joseph and Marjorie (Thomson) Johnson. As a child, the family
relocated to the Larimore, ND area where she grew up and
attended school.
She married Owen (Tuffy) Johnson in 1951. They raised two
sons, David and Steven. Ellie was a farm wife and worked various
jobs in the area. In 1974, she moved to Grand Forks, ND, where
she worked at Altru Hospital. Then in 2000, she began a 13-year
immensely treasured memory as a Foster Grandparent at Sacred
Heart school in East Grand Forks, MN. In 2014 she moved with
family to Phoenix, AZ, then with them to Bend, OR.
Ellie is survived by son David (Phyllis) Johnson, grandson Steven
(Daney) Johnson, great grandson Christopher (Aerianna)
Johnson, great granddaughter Addison Johnson all of Bend, and
many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph and Marjorie,
husband Tuffy, son Steven, siblings Lois, Elaine, Caroline,
Dureen, Muriel, Elsie, Beverly, Millie, Calvin and Robert.
Family services are being planned for summer in North Dakota.
