Edna Carolyn (Kuhns, Houser) Redhead
Born in Easton, PA on August 21, 1942 to Charles and Ruth (Butler) Kuhns.
Graduated from Liberty High School, Bethlehem, PA in 1960.
Also lived in Albuquerque, NM, Twin Falls, ID, and Ashland and Medford OR.
Worked in Special Education for the Southern Oregon ESD for 25 years, retiring in 2002.
She married the love of her life, Michael, in 2002 and retired to Prineville that same year.
A member of the American Legion Auxiliary, Eagles Auxiliary, and the Ladies of the Elks, she volunteered at the three lodges. She was scholarship chairperson for the American Legion Auxiliary and Eagles Auxiliary for many years, a position she thoroughly enjoyed. She also held the position of Education/Scholarship Chair for the Department of Oregon. She was named “Member of the Year for 2019” by the American Legion Auxiliary.
Edna was an avid golfer and was a member of the Ladies of the Lake at Meadow Lakes Golf Course. She also enjoyed traveling and fly fishing with her husband. Edna was a HAM (amateur radio) with a call sign of KE7EMM – she is now a silent key.
She is preceded in death by her parents, brothers (Earl, Leonard, and Joseph), a nephew (Todd) Kuhn.
She is survived by her husband, Michael; sisters-in-law Bernadette Kuhns (Allentown, PA) and Shannon Kuhns (Bethlehem, PA); as well as nieces, nephews and grandnieces and nephews.
