Born November 8, 1935 and passed away peacefully on June 3, 2021 at his sons home in Moses Lake, WA, he was 85 years old.
Don was born to Dude and Elsie Demaris , he was the youngest of seven children. Helen, Clarence, Irene, Horace, Jerry, and Clint.
Don grew up in Prineville, spending much of his time at his Grandma Janes on McKay Creek. He went to work early as did many young men of his generation.
Don worked for just about every log mill and several independent logging outfits. Floyd Pierce at Ochoco Lumber, Jack and Johnny Rhoden of Pine Products. Ed McCallan , Lawrence Garside and John Meadows just to name a few.
He was a skilled cat skinner, road builder and respected timber faller. He also worked on the Bowman Dam in the early '60s, and for Craig and Brick Woodard on the Meadow Lakes Golf Course where he could come home for lunch if he wanted to.
Don was generous to a fault, raising seven kids, George, Vicki and Jane with his first wife Yvonne who passed away in 1970. Valli, Brett, Cass and Kama with his wife Donna Kay.
Don loved animals , having many horses, dogs, cats and one old goat throughout his life, he will be missed very much by his family and friends.
There will be a graveside service on Friday June 18, 2021 at 10 a.m. at Juniper Haven Cemetery.
